A lecture course that provides and introduction to the general principles of microbiology with emphasis on microorganisms and human/animal diseases. Topics include laboratory techniques, cellular biology, immunology, genetics, microbial classification and an introduction to biotechnology.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of BIO 2523 and BIO 2521 or 8 hours of upper-level biology courses with a grade of “C” or better. Corequisite:BIO 2921.
